  i have a favor to ask.

  i need some information found in a watchtower that i can't seem to find in my library.

  today, the watchtower teaches that the governing body is the faithful slave.

  OUR VIEW OF THE "SLAVE"

  We can benefit from this consideration. If we have once established what instrument God is using as his "slave" to dispense spiritual food to his people, surely Jehovah is not pleased if we receive that food as though it might contain something harmful. We should have confidence in the channel God is using. At the Brooklyn headquarters from which the Bible publications of Jehovah's Witnesses emanate there are more mature Christian elders, both of the "remnant" and of the "other sheep," than anywhere else upon earth.

  im not a jw and never was but had a bad encounter with one , ie my gf was one .

  anyway , i was wondering if fb pages are actually allowed , i thought the wt frowned upon them ?

  10 years ago, it was verboten. They had assembly parts, convention parts, etc... warning about the evils of social networking sites like Facebook. Now, well...the flip flop has begun, Even though I still hear ones that are still in being cautious of it, many are ignoring it and doing what they want. Even some of their pubs have recently talked about 'internet witnessing' if I am not mistaken.

  i'm a middle aged man.

  i dated a jw lady for 3 months ., we never had sex, just made out , half naked , well everything except underwear .

  she has been a jw for 40 years ., was married to a jw but he committed adultery 13 years ago so they divorced .

  i know this is an old topic, but it came to mind again.... yes it is appropriate for people to dress neatly and respectfully for a dignified religious gathering, but why does it have to be a full suit with collared shirt and tie?.

  why does it have to be a full dress or skirt and jacket?.

  sure, we would find it distasteful for a person to arrive in swimwear or work overalls or other inappropriate attire, but why does it have to conform to strict standards?.

  JW Witnessing Trolleys. To approach or ignore what is your preference and why?

  i saw two brothers this morning next to the main train station in liverpool city centre this morning.

  they were not actively approaching anyone.

  what i found strange was that they were from a cong that has different territory, so i don't know why they were there.. anyway i knew them both, and they know i was df'd, i was in my car and couldn't park up for a chat, but i did beep and wave to them as i drove passed and they waved back.

  one book i read, the mists of avalon, was very important to me.

  among the main characters was merlin, who in the book, was called "taliesen".

  i've noticed a comprehensive revision to this board in reference to the history of topics and posts.there has been a total reboot.are my 1700 topics gone forever or is there a repository someplace?thanks.

  Could we use the new shunning guidelines to our advantage?

  according to new, officially published guidelines, jws can now shun a person who has not been disfellowshipped from the congregation.

  i see this guideline being abused by many jws who have an axe to grind with a fellow jw.

  for example, let's say sister peinindiass rubs sister sensitive the wrong way.

  I am very happy for you! It is nice to see stories like this to show how leaving this darned cult can be the best life possible. I can relate to where you talk about getting closer to non believing family members. Personally, I have formed some very close bonds with family that I never associated with before. Wish you the best!
